Topic: Sunglass Four-point Alignment
Responsibilities: Analysis, Instructional Design, e-Learning Development, Implementation, and Evaluation
Target Audience: Employees in the Returns job function, globally
Software Used: Camtasia and Powerpoint
Year: 2018
Instructional Design Process:
During a conversation with the manager of the returns department, she expressed the reoccurring challenges and feedback from a global teams regarding the product returns process. Once I determined that re-training would be the best solution for these remote teams, I shadowed them and noted the correct process for testing four-point alignment when returning product.
I organized this content into an outline and storyboard. After reviewing with the manager, I began shooting the photos and video needed for the project and formatted the PowerPoint slides. In Camtasia, I edited photos, video, and PowerPoint slides into one cohesive video. I exported the completed projects as an mp4 and sent it to manager to review. With the approval from the manager, I uploaded the final project mp4 to the Cornerstone LMS and assigned it out the appropriate teams using a dynamic assignment.
Outcome:
This simple instructional video allowed the global team to have the same expectations for four-point alignment which meant that the returns team at the main HQ received less errors and questions on the basics of the job. With less frustration, the team was able to accomplish a faster turn-time for product returns. This project was one of the first instructional process videos produced for the company.
